The challenge of managing time is universal which need to be solved these days. Whether a person is a housewife, field worker or a top executive, invariably everyone faces the same challenge of managing time which has become very crucial for now. While the growing technology considerably reduces the work at office, there is also the growing challenge at work and the complexity due to various factors makes one's managing ability difficult and poses many obstacle in the work environment.

The availability of time is same for all invariably around the globe. It's 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for all, as such why many finds it difficult to manage time while the talented few manage the time effectively. 

Let us analyze the various factors that affect the time management factor in our day to day life.


Over Commitment

It becomes the regular phenomena for many to commit more than one can do. If you promise more and deliver less it is not regarded well. If you promise less and deliver more, you will be highly regarded by all means. Under normal circumstances, out of enthusiasm one may tend to commit more without considering the time factor and the deadline. Those fraction of seconds when one makes the commitment, considerably affects the time management factor and hence it has to addressed rightly.


Procrastination

The root cause for many of our problem is the delay or postponement of the given task without valid reason. Before we start our work, we must know to prioritize the jobs in front of us. Knowing to give priority for various jobs is really an art. Job priority must be based on our commitment or the need of the said job. Procrastination is the worst factor that affects the time management considerably.

The innovation and inventions has brought more entertaining aspects to our life. In the past, stage plays and after some time watching movies were forming part of people's entertaining life. The present time making these things trivial and less important by bringing more entertaining aspects like TV, Internet, Gaming etc. We need to allocate time for the said entertaining mode since our available time is very limited and the same to be used properly. This becomes a very crucial factor in affective our time management to a greater extent.

To plan our day: We can plan our day earlier to avoid chaos and confusions. In general, Monday will be tough for anybody. If we plan one day before, we can make it easy and find our day highly productive. The amount of work to be completed and time required to complete the same is the important aspects in order to plan our day effectively.

Avoid time wasters: Innumerable entertainment medias invade our living room, thanks to the revolution of television which plays a vital role for the same. The wise often spends less time for these trivial matters and allocate more time for the completion of top priority work that help manage our time effectively.

Avoid over commitment: While accepting any job, care has to be exercised since over commitment and accepting more jobs than it is practical and possible will considerably affect the time factor.

The magic of prioritization: Learn to prioritize the jobs. In this fast world, we generally cannot avoid the jobs that comes on our way. Yet we can prioritize by giving importance to the urgent one to complete first, while postponing the work that of trivial value. 

Take good care of your health: 'Health is Wealth' is the great saying. A sound health will help us to do the work with involvement thereby help us to complete the task swiftly. A healthy body caters to healthy mind and help us to manage our time effectively.

To manage time effectively and productively is the universal and down to earth requirement these days. This thinking helps us to manage the time to a greater extent. The problem of managing time differs according to the complexity of the given task, and differs from person to person. Managing Work

When it comes to work many of us used to lament about the non availability of time. How funny it is, isn't it? In my honest opinion, it is the same time we all have, and how few manage their work perfectly!  Let's try to arrive at a proper solution for this, by analyzing various factors relevant to this topic.

For any individual or organization, work mainly denotes office work. Under the normal circumstances, household work remains same and it will be the regular routine everyday. When it comes to office, depending on the position and responsibility, the complexity of the work varies. Whether it is a CEO or a sub staff, pending work is the common terminology for all. It is a sort of vicious cycle, when one enter into this segment of pending work, it is hard to come out of it. It is like a trap.Why and how the pending work arises? 

If you happen to be a part of a busiest organization, the very thought occurs in your mind is  'How to complete the given task within the allotted time?' The apparent truth is, we all have 24 hours time universally and almost all the offices have 8 hours per day work pattern. Depends upon the nature, product and turnover of any organization, the work becomes less or more. No matter how much  load of work an individual may get, with certain amount of planning and prioritization,  one can excel by completing the work on time without any fuss.

The following seven steps will help you avoid procrastination and  empower you to manage your work in style.

1.Differentiate the work and non-work
First, identify a work and non-work, so that any non work can be eliminated without giving any thought on it. In this way, we could save our precious time to a greater extent.
  
2.Write your days work to be completed neatly in a diary
If we really want to complete all our work within the day, we must first of all arrive the total number of work to be completed for the day. This is a sort of agenda, which will give us direction to proceed further. Have a dairy to note these on daily basis to take necessary action on it.

3.Prioritize your work by identifying which is most urgent
The most important function after arranging out work to be completed list is prioritization of our work. Yes all work may not be of equal importance to be completed quickly. Just identify which one is most urgent or cause certain impact if not done immediately.
 
4.Keep a file or folder for important work related papers
The work related papers and proof which are utmost important to preserve as they are the supporting for the work to be completed. Even though the work is completed, if the supporting is missing, will cause a big problem. Just allot a file or folder to keep the important work related paper for immediate reference. This will save our time considerably.
 
5.Take action-start doing work as per work sheet
To take action is the very important function. Unless otherwise we start the work, how we could ever complete the work. With the help of the clear worksheet, one can start  the  work and complete the same with peace of mind.
 
6.Inform your authorities about your needs, relevant to the work
It always happen for most of us, the work gets stuck mainly for want of certain stationary. other important items.Never hesitate to inform your higher authority or immediate boss about this, which will avoid further confusion on this.

7. Prepare a work completion statement at the end of the day

It is the final step, which will give you the summary of work completed and prompt you to get ready to face the next day's work. After having completed the days work, it becomes easy to list out the work to be completed next day. You will have the great confidence to face the next day's work with pleasure. 

These are all easy to do jobs, and doesn't require any special skill to carry out. Instead of getting confused, it is always advisable to take constructive action that results into effective completion of work which ultimately will render  peace of mind at the end of the day.

The Winner Shares Everything

To win is the dream of all. To many it is a distant dream. No one starts their day to fail, every one wants to win, atleast they think so. Winning becomes easier when one understands the advantages of a winner.

Generally the winners are often adored by all.  To the wise, winning is the way of life, while many sits and wonder about the same. Then winner gets the positive energy which keeps him in positive state of mind. It works as a propeller to inject  positive ideas  and makes winning regular.

The winner wins twice, first he mentally wins, visualizes his success earlier. Then he gets the assured success.

This is possible when the one realizes the huge and enormous benefits of winning.

The winner gets more followers, he or she surrounded by positive waves that confirms the winning regular. Futher the impact of winning elevates one to the level of a leader.

Self Management Principles-rarely practiced 

In this world of technological advancement and with the invention of various gadgets, even managing the vast organization becomes easy now a days. Depends upon the available resources, it is easy for any one in charge of a group, team or department to perform better in their respective field.

Well, the very difficult task for the vast majority of the people is to manage self. A friend of mine was very keen on buying the latest books and journals on varies relevant topics. In due course, he started buying more than the actual requirement. This resulted only confusion and chaos as to what book to read first or how to create time for so many to read. This is just an example. There are ample matters where people struggling to manage themselves. For the very effective self management, I humbly request the readers to follow the given points.

1. We all have 24 hours a day

For non performance, many used to grumble and say its because of lack of time. But where is the time gone. All of us in this world, who ever it is, got 24 hours a day only. How few got time and many others are not. The main reason is how one utilizes ones available time that really matters. If you use your time effectively by making day, week, month and year planning, you will never get stumbled for want of time.

2. Why don't we get up early

It is a sort of New year resolution. Many of our resolution becomes long forgotten or left in the air until we start practicing the same. If we cultivate the habit to get up early in the morning or if we ever try the same, one can definitely taste the benefits of its fruit. Some of the benefits are

a. If you get up early in the morning,you get some extra time; one can make use of it effectively

b. you can relax as you need not have to hurry in the morning due to lack of time

c. the early morning (out side) is wonderful, we just can't express in words

d. you can get tonnes of  pure oxygen if you go for a walk, which is good for health, to unwind

e. do get up early, it  isn't cost much, except your will to get up 

3.What you buy really matters.

Human want are unlimited. But the real need is often very limited. There is a vast difference between want and need.We many of us quiet often caught in between our wants and needs. Give a thought, why one has to buy anything which is rarely used or not at all used by oneself. It only gets piled up and occupies our space, sits on our head and eats our peace of mind. Will you ever buy a pain?

4.Financial resources are invaluable.

Money is the mother of creating all good and bad situations. There are three acts needed to avert money crunch. Make the money, save the money and grow the money. We live in the era of self created overheads. Even if you don't make money, nevertheless you have to pay for your expenses. Many knew this by themselves. Many are learned to understand this concept. Some are even financial wizards. The question is the aspect of application by oneself. Do we really apply what we know? The effective application of this concept will really help us keeping away from  financial disorders. 

5.Your worry cannot change the scene

The score of the people often spending worrying and wondering for trivial things. What is going to happen by worrying? Think what will happen if you don't worry. Many things that happened in our life are decided by how we respond to them. Take the problems one by one, face and arrest the problems one by one. While many of our problems can be solved, some cannot be, then why worry? Worry cause nothing except deteriorating one's own health.

6.There is a power beyond our vicinity

There is no relevance between money and happiness. Money is just a tool to take care of our material needs. Money cannot buy happiness at any cost. The key factor for our happiness is our emotions. The one who is emotionally balanced is certainly a successful person in all counts. The accumulation of wealth  often end up with euphoria initially, and later causing fear, which generates more fear than the actual. We must believe there is a power which we cannot see but feel. Mental satisfaction, sense of achievement and freedom from all worries and debts liberates us. Help others, help the society, and live for social cause, gives you real happiness which money cannot. Even if we don't have money, we can offer our valuable services to the people who are needy and deserving. 

These points are easy to understand and hard to practice, but its worth practicing.
